At midnight<br \/>we&#8217;d stomped and danced, undid ourselves<br \/>like Mandelstam shaking caraway seeds from a sack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Who needs hope anyway? The tough-minded<br \/>put their faith in deeds &#8211;either you do or you don&#8217;t.<br \/>Drink from that vase.\u00a0 Heave up the smothering haystack.\u00a0<br \/>Hammer the everyday into words.
