Yellow, how do we read you?\u00a0 Sickly or simple as happiness? \u00a0Simple as just living without ponderous thought. \u00a0 Daffodils in their junior prom dresses.\u00a0 Come rain, come light snow petals quiver but they don\u2019t drop. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forstyhia too.  On the frontline of joy.  Out from under, like Easter.  In the face of death.  Breathing quivering glaring at darkening rain clouds that glare and brighten them<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 A duck egg\u2019s yolk, outsized sun.  That which feeds in scarcity is revered as a goddess<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and fear, and disillusion, too much optimism, too much yellow that fades, becomes dingy, a street sign \u2014 crossing! bus! children! \u2014 in need of attention<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and fear of the other in their own birthed skin \u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and dreaming, and dreaming without bounds, call it naive, call it imagination. Yellow as an M & M.  Yellow as a lozenge, a candy-colored soft-swirl dream, a Saab sportscar soft as a miniature car capsule <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yellow, simple as the sketch of light that draws your face in laughter<\/p>\n\n\n\n
