{"id":3290,"date":"2024-04-29T15:02:48","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T15:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.jillpearlman.com\/?p=3290"},"modified":"2024-04-29T15:05:17","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T15:05:17","slug":"leau-and-behold","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.jillpearlman.com\/?p=3290","title":{"rendered":"L&#8217;Eau and Behold"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>One of Passover\u2019s big themes is water.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Sea in the Desert sets the stage for crossing the sea, coming through narrow straits, through a \u201cbirth canal\u201d towards your own life, passing from received ideas towards self-awareness and freedom, singing in the liminal spaces; singing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;L\u2019Eau and Behold,&#8221; a long sequenced poem that I wrote in the fall, is also about obstructions, blockages, and the joy when water flows and liberates us from\u00a0stuck places.\u00a0\u00a0I was thrilled when La Piccioletta Barca short-listed it for its poetry contest. The contest&#8217;s theme was &#8220;Amorphous,&#8221; quite fitting as freedom is an undefined field of opportunities.
