{"id":3558,"date":"2025-07-28T13:17:16","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T13:17:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.jillpearlman.com\/?p=3558"},"modified":"2025-07-28T13:20:16","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T13:20:16","slug":"the-blue-door-of-our-dreams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.jillpearlman.com\/?p=3558","title":{"rendered":"The Blue Door in our Dreams"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.jillpearlman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/DufyDoor.heic\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.jillpearlman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/DufyDoor.heic\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3559\" style=\"width:399px;height:auto\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s always a blue door in our dreams,<br \/>in our former lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A cerulean blue door, with wooden slats\u00a0<br \/>held by a small hook in the white plastered wall.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It opens, closes and opens, screeching like a sick<br \/>owl, such are the vagaries of age.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once it was trammeled by stones and thieves\u00a0<br \/>and a massive soaring boulder.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mostly I remember Raoul Dufy\u2019s fisherman\u00a0<br \/>in the same cerulean blue, his nets and biceps.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And our three-year-old in the shimmering <br \/>light of the doorway, shouting at the gusting wind:\u00a0<br \/>\u201cVa-t-on!
