Trying to sum up the year?\u00a0 It’s like grabbing onto an octopus.\u00a0The head is small and inaccessible.\u00a0 Although you may latch onto an arm, it will be slip from your grasp, in its own clever way of resisting and fighting back.<\/p>\n

What was 2015 all about?\u00a0 You will not have forgotten\u00a0the Paris attacks, the sense of dread, of war declared –\u00a0by armed and hooded youth on their own generation,\u00a0now sliced very differently.<\/p>\n

And yet, in the spirit of “resist,” of elevating life above base fear,\u00a0you remember the taste of that Parisian bistro meal\u00a0you created (garlic, cod, endive), \u00a0flavors still lingering.<\/p>\n

Let’s not judge —<\/p>\n

Baudelaire doesn’t.\u00a0 Desire can get much funkier, but most importantly, it’s not sloth.\u00a0 Pushed to its extreme, ecstasy brings shock, the new, fresh vision. \u00a0It is essential spiritual food, whatever its roots.<\/p>\n
